HUD Apportions $72 Million for Homeless Youth

Aims to create community prevention programs.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced that their Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program is making $72 million available for 25 communities to help address their population of homeless youth. The program is informed by those who have experienced youth homelessness. The funding will first help create effective programs to address youth homelessness in those 25 communities, then hopefully be implemented across the United States.

“HUD has a responsibility to communities in this nation, especially youth. Housing greatly impacts our education, our employment, and our opportunities to thrive,” said Secretary Marcia Fudge. “These grants underscore HUD’s commitment to eradicating homelessness, especially among young people, who all need and deserve a safe place to call home.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they address adolescent homelessness.
  • For Secretary Fudge as she oversees the implementation of the homelessness prevention program.
  • That help and assistance for teens who are living on the streets would be effective.
